Board of Trustees
The Minster Centre’s Board currently comprises 7 Trustees who meet at least five times a year. The Board of Trustees reviews the organisation’s long term strategic aims and short-term objectives.
Our current board members are:
Nick Carley, Chair
Having begun his career in youth work and careers counselling, Nick Carley has over 25 years’ experience running small enterprises and since 2010 has been director of a research agency working with UK universities to better understand and improve all aspects of the student experience. He hopes to combine his commercial knowledge and skills with his interest in education and mental health as the new Chair of The Minster Centre board.
Judith Burnett
Judith Burnett is an executive coach and mentor, working in education, public bodies and charities. She was an academic sociologist for many years and then moved into management and leadership in UK universities. Today, she retains a keen interest in the sociology of generations and is a member of the British Sociological Association. Judith is a school governor and community journalist in Waltham Forest, East London.
David Collins
David Collins trained at The Minster Centre before qualifying in 2013. He works as a psychotherapist in private practice, in Horsham, West Sussex, and in central London. Prior to training to be a therapist, David qualified as a Management Accountant in the 1990’s, working over many years as an accountant in a couple of large national charities, and for a private sector company working in the Arts.
Morica Daley
Minster Centre tutor, Staff Representative.
Peter Haydn-Smith
Peter studied medicine at Sheffield and then did his psychiatric training at the Maudsley and Bethlem Hospitals and the Institute of Psychiatry, he then specialised in forensic psychiatry which included further work at the Maudsley and Bethlem and a year at Broadmoor Hospital. He then took up the post of Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist in Sussex. He has now retired from that but still works one day per week as a psychiatrist to the Civil Aviation Authority at Gatwick. This involves assessing pilots' fitness to return to work and to continue flying.
Carena Rogers
Carena Rogers trained at The Minster Centre before qualifying in 2019. She works as a psychotherapist in private practice, in East and North West London. She also works one day a week at the Maya Centre women's organisation in Archway. Prior to training to be a therapist, Carena worked for many years in public policy influencing and community engagement at both national and local level.
Natasha Sackey
Michael Penny
Minster Centre student, Student Representative. Mike is a dedicated professional with experience in strategy, innovation, and education. He has had the unique opportunity to bring impactful solutions across diverse sectors, which have consistently been at the intersection of social impact, technological innovation, and community engagement. Mike’s passion for mental health and holistic well-being fuels a deep pursuit to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities.
Lissie Wright
